B O R N E O
A wild island, Borneo is a true paradise for nature and adventure lovers. Shared between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Sultanate of Brunei, it is home to some of the oldest rainforests in the world. Between dense jungles, towering mountains, and winding rivers, Borneo offers exceptional biodiversity, home to orangutans, pygmy elephants, and countless endemic species.

My 12-day itinerary
We discovered the Malaysian part of Borneo, mainly in the east, where nature reigns supreme. Between dense rainforests and wild beaches, this region offered us an authentic and exotic adventure.
Sepilok

4 days
Sepilok is a nature reserve famous for its orangutan rehabilitation center. Located in the heart of the tropical jungle, this sanctuary offers a unique opportunity to observe these primates in semi-wild conditions. The area is also home to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and magnificent hiking trails through the lush forest: Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC).

Kinabatangan

3 days
We spent three days immersed in the jungle, at the foot of the Kinabatangan River, an unforgettable experience. On the agenda: boat safaris at dawn and sunset, walks in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by extraordinary wildlife.
Between crocodiles hidden in the water, elephants making their way along the banks, and proboscis monkeys jumping from branch to branch, every moment was magical!

Semporna

Semporna is the perfect base from which to explore some of Malaysia's most beautiful islands. We spent five days cruising through crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches, discovering dreamlike islands like Timba-Timba, Mataking, and Bohey Duhang.
5 days

The islands are simply magnificent, but unfortunately, Semporna is also marked by impressive plastic pollution and shocking poverty, which contrasts sharply with the beauty of its landscapes...
