S R I L A N K A
Formerly known as Ceylon, this country to the south of India in the Indian Ocean is full of treasures. Its varied landscapes range from tropical forests and white sandy beaches to arid plains and famous tea plantations.

Whether it's the warm welcome of the locals, the richness of the cuisine or the exceptional wildlife, Sri Lanka is a real favourite.

My 14-day itinerary

Sigiriya

2 days
Known for Lion Rock, the archaeological site of Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We began the climb to Pidurangala Rock at 5 a.m. to enjoy the sunrise from the summit. The climb, which takes less than 30 minutes, is relatively easy and accessible.
Arriving at the top, we were rewarded with a magical spectacle: a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding jungle, bathed in the first light of day. An unforgettable experience!

Trinquemalay
From Sigiriya to Trinquemalay, we took the local bus, a memorable experience! The buses are a real spectacle: extravagantly and colorfully decorated, they play local music at full volume. At each stop, vendors come on board to offer snacks or drinks, and sometimes even musicians come on board to play.
And what about the driving! With their frenetic pace, you'd think you were in a Formula 1 race, I recommend them!

3 days
In Trincomalee, we rented scooters to explore the area at our own pace. This freedom allowed us to discover the beautiful beaches nearby, away from the crowds.
We also had an incredible day on a boat to Pigeon Island. There, we had the unique opportunity to swim with reef sharks.

Kandy

We stopped off in Kandy to catch the famous train to Ella. The 7-hour journey is an experience not to be missed: breathtaking views of tea plantations, punctuated by stops where passers-by climb aboard to sell delicious fresh fruit.

1 day
Ella
This small tourist town offers magnificent landscapes: tea plantations, waterfalls, the Nine Arch Bridge... Ella is considered by visitors as a must-see destination during a stay in Sri Lanka.
We rented a scooter to ride around and it was magical!

3 days

Arugam Bay
On the way to Arugam Bay, we were lucky enough to see a wild elephant, an unforgettable moment!

With its bohemian atmosphere, breathtaking scenery and, above all, a world-famous surf spot, Arugam Bay is a favorite destination for surfers and travelers looking for a friendly atmosphere.

3 days

Just a 30-minute walk from Arugam Bay, Crocodile Rock is an absolutely magical place and a must-see in the region!
We went there to watch the sunset, and the experience was insane: wild elephants, curious monkeys in the trees, and breathtaking scenery. We'll always remember it as one of the most unforgettable moments of our trip!

Yala National Parc

2 days
To end our trip on a high note, we went to Yala National Park for a one-day safari. WOW - it was a childhood dream come true! With elephants, crocodiles, and a multitude of colorful birds, the day was full of emotions.
