Singapore is often seen as an expensive destination in Asia, and that’s not entirely wrong… but with a bit of planning, it’s absolutely possible to enjoy it without blowing your budget!
Here’s a transparent breakdown of my expenses during my 4-day stay, excluding the plane ticket (I was already traveling from Southeast Asia).
Total expenses: €184.18
I've divided my expenses into five main categories: food, drinks, transport, activities and accommodation. Here are the details:
🍜 Food - €41.03 (22% of total budget) In Singapore, eating well on a budget is totally doable, especially if you stick to hawker centres (local food courts). I tried a variety of dishes, from pork noodles (S$5) to butter chicken, along with sweet snacks like waffles and banana cake.
🥤 Drinks - €18.01 (10% of budget) With the heat, it’s hard not to give in to a frappé mocha, fresh fruit juices, or just plenty of water. Prices are generally reasonable, but these little extras do add up quickly!
🚇 Transport - S$0.10 (approx. €0.07) (0% of budget) Unbelievable but true: in 4 days, I spent less than 10 cents getting around! I mostly walked or used transport already included in various passes, proof that Singapore is incredibly walkable and accessible.
🏛️ Activities - €58.80 (32% of the budget) This is a big budget, indeed. I visited the Art Science Museum (S$25) and the famous Flower Dome & Cloud Forest combo at Gardens by the Bay, two must-see experiences.
🛏️ Accommodation - €66.34 (36% of budget) For three nights, I paid S$95, or around €22 a night. This is a good price for Singapore, where accommodation can quickly go up. I stayed in a clean, convenient hostel in a good location.

Conclusion
To sum up, my stay in Singapore cost me €184.18 for 4 days, or around €46 per day. For such a modern city with a reputation for being expensive, I'm glad I was able to balance my expenses between pleasure, discovery and practicality. It's a destination I'd recommend, even for those on a tight budget!
